The dentist will probably prescribe you an antibiotic first to guard against spreading the infection. You'll feel better, too............

I have an extensive past with dentist. Just got back today as a matter of fact. Tooth infections and I are old friend, antibiotics work (in a few days.........)

Yes, and antibiotics with a recent date. (dentists and doctors would not agree with this) Antibiotics are dangerous because if you use them too much when you REALLY need them, they won’t work.

Serious dental infection can cause cardiac failure as it can infect the heart.  Get it dealt with directly.  I knew of a guy who hated the dentist and never cared for himself, he died of tooth decay for this reason.

my 4th cousin who is close to my age, had to have heart surgery b/c he let his teeth go and had to have all his teeth pulled out. A lot of infection can go into every area of your system. That's called sepsis.....which is commonly known as blood poisoning. Some people would rather die ( literally) than go to a dentist.

That tooth below you nose is infected, it will eat away bone from your sinus area eventually your eye socket and consequentially making you blind once the infection reaches your optic nerve. Go to a dentist.

I was just looking around for a report on mcm’s cat’s paw and I landed here right by the phone. I have been putting off a call to the dentist for about 4 months.
Vinny, I will make the call momentarily. It doesn’t look bad or feel bad but the dentist said it needs to be fixed. OK. Already.

itsmee, I was just looking for the section about my cat and landed here too. Hope to see you on " my page " of akaQA. Yes, I did take him to the vet today.

Jeez! Thanks for the cheery news Vinny.I bet she feels better already.LOL

The tooth must be removed or the pus can't escape. Your dentist may give an antibiotic as the local anaesthetic may not work fully owing to the infection.

local may not work. Ooooooh! I call now. I just didn’t consider this a serious matter. It probably isn’t but it MIGHT be.

THANKS TO ALL OF YOU HEALTH-CONSCIOUS PEOPLE!!

    I speak from experience.

Go to dentist or you will have unbearable pain.  Take care and hope you feel better.

wish I would have seen this one earlier. It's a year old. I would have said, Go to a dentist right away, b/c that infection can get into your system and cause sepsis......commonly known as blood poisoning. !!

Pamb: Are you making the call?

Oh, he wrote that one year ago! He’s either better or he ain’t.
Anyway, it was good informative reading.
