An aglet (or aiglet) is a small plastic or metal sheath typically used on each end of a shoelace, cord, or drawstring. An aglet keeps the fibers of the lace or cord from unraveling; its firmness and narrow profile make it easier to hold and easier to feed through the eyelets, lugs, or other lacing guides.

Wow-- This is one of my oldest trivia questions.. I have popped this one out for years, nobody knows the answer to this. Google has taken the fun out of honest trivia today.

(Oh my goodness! I am getting on in age!)
My father worked in a University when I was growing up. He worked with computers and was involved in Cancer Research. The computers where gigantic and made loads of noise. I never in my wildest dreams thought I would have an iPhone with the world at my fingertips...... Go figure! Spinny chairs with wheels were so much fun back then and the corridors of a University research building are very very long.
