Most are scams. All that require you to pay them money up front to get paid to do anything is a scam. For more information, you can check out the following website put up by the Federal Government: http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2000/10/topten.shtm
According to the Federal Trade Commission and the owner of the site listed above, the following are the top 10 scams on line:
Internet Auction Fraud
Internet Service Provider Scams
Internet Web Site Design/Promotions - Web Cramming
Internet Information and Adult Services - Credit Card Cramming
Multi-level Marketing/Pyramid Scams
Business Opportunities and Work-At-Home Scams
Investment Schemes and Get-Rich-Quick Scams
Travel/Vacation Fraud
Telephone/Pay-Per-Call Solicitation Frauds (including modem dialers and videotext)
Health Care Frauds

You can also go to Scam Buster's website: www.scambusters.org/backissues.html or this one, www.scamsonline.com - but I still like the Federal Trade Commission's site as a starting point.

You can still use the FTC site because it is full of great information that would cover you too. It is a general clearing house for information.
