Better according to whom?
I think that, to become a better person, I need to acknowledge my faults and weaknesses and consider ways to correct them. Trying to correct everything I think is wrong with me all at once would be impossible, so I would probably pick one thing to work on at a time, knowing that other faults or weaknesses would likely improve in conjunction with the one change I'm tackling.
Then, having isolated what I want to improve, I'd consider ways to do that, make a plan, and exhibit the new behavior or thought process whenever possible.
Example: I love to bowl and have been able to practice 3 games every day all summer at NO COST!
Every time I have been able to practice, I have focused on improving (actually changing) one specific part of my delivery. It has become a habit now, and I am consistent in executing that part of my delivery almost every time. The change is now part of who I am (when I bowl).
