The causes behind tingling of lips are as varied as allergic reactions. Allergy: Whenever the lips comes in contact with some toxic substances or allergens, then it can give a tingling feeling. The allergens may come in the form of pollens, chemicals present in cosmetics, soaps or medicines or certain food components. Poisons includes toxic fumes, pesticides, cleaning agents used in household, etc. Usually, the tingling feeling can last for a few minutes to few hours. Other accompanying symptoms of such allergies are swelling in the lips, itching in the mouth, throat and surrounding skin. In some serious cases, shortness of breath, hives, nausea and dizziness can also be seen.
If you are suffering from tingling lips, you should consult a doctor and find out the cause.
