First you go see a admit councilor at the home of your choice, best to look at several before settling on one . All questions and concerns should be answered at this time .This is what they do and have plenty of experience. Its expensive so they will wish to know where the payment will be coming from. This sounds very sad ,to one day be in charge of your life and the next day have someone control everything. Have courage and enjoy the good times . Bill

This is a heart breaking decision for you my dear.
But if your husbands quality of life will be better for it & just as importantly if your quality of life will be better then it must happen.
Try to find a few that are easily accessible for you to visit.
Go to them & ask questions about how you husband will be cared for.
Don't be embarrassed about asking too many questions.I have dealt with this type of institution for many years now & I know there are good one & bad ones. If they are cagey about answering your questions go somewhere else.
Enlist the help of your kids if you have them.Take them with you when you go.They will probably have just as many relevant questions as you do.
Good luck with it.
