Learning is a never ending process, and one way to develop that is to be instructed in school. New ideas and skills, inventions, making new friends and learning how to handle certain situations are just few of the things that could be rubbed out if schooling is not prioritized. Come to think of it, our way of communication will not go this far if there are no literates who took advantage of what they gained to improve the society.

WOW, I'm just coming up with negative stuff and I know the education system (at least here in the United States) leaves much to be desired. Sometimes no school seems a wise choice.
If there were no school, parents would need to teach their kids the basic survival skills that schools now try to ingrain.....reading, writing, arithmetic, BIOLOGY, CHEMISTRY, PHYSICS, CALCULUS, GOVERNMENT & ECONOMICS, GEOMETRY, ENGLISH GRAMMAR (Is any of this scaring you? It's scaring ME) The important stuff: balance a checkbook, make a bed, prepare some simple meals, do laundry and dishes, get along with others, write a thank you note.......you know, the stuff that ya really need to know to go out into the world and make it on your own.
Personally, I always said that when my kids learned how to read and could make and count change from a dollar, I'd gladly send them to Neverland (from the book Peter Pan, not Michael Jackson's place) and let them be children for as long as they liked.
