Because we have lived alot longer & experienced alot of what our children are now going through. If we could only listen to our parents when we are young we would save ourselves alot of heartache. There were alot of things my parents told me that I just "had to do my way" that I wish I would have listened to. It somehow seems more valuable of a lesson though if we make the mistake ourselves AS LONG AS WE LEARN FROM IT! The only problem with that is that sometimes we do things when we are young that we can't take back that change our lives forever (for example) getting pregnant, marrying the wrong guy, dropping out of school or college & God forbid, getting involved in drugs or criminal activity that can put you in jail for life. Most parents (unless they are in jail, drug addicts, etc...) are worth listening to & keep in mind, the more advice you take from them, the less heartache in life you are likely to have! Best wishes

still getting the hang of it. Not sure when to comment or answer but I just became a Grandma so I have gotten "mushy" I guess & know the struggles young people can go through & hard it is financially & even having a good support system of older people to talk to. I appreciate the compliment
