My receipe is as follows:

preheat oven to 350 degrees, while oven is preheating take 1 stick of real butter melt in either a large square baking pan or aluminum baking pan and let the butter melt soon as butter is melted take pan out of oven, in the meantime use 1 box of white cake mix I mix that up according to instructions on box but I usually add 1 whole egg and instead of water i use cooking oil instead and maybe add 2 TB sourcream, this makes the cake mix much better and more moist.  Take 1 box of dark brown sugar and shake entire box onto top of the melted butter in the pan you intend to bake cake in.  After doing that, take 1 large canned of sliced pineapples, drain completely place your pineapple pieces individually into the pan close to each other, I also take marshchrino   cheeries and place a cherry into the center of each pineapple ring.  Then I take the cake batter that I have mixed up and pour evenly on top of this and bake the cake in the preheated 350 degree oven until done.  ( one good test for this is when you insert a long toothpick or regular butter knife into the center of the cake and it comes out clean then the cake is done).  Hope this helps has always turned out really good for me.
