If a woman has had more than one partner she is usually labelled as a slut.
This is not what I believe but it is the attitude that most people have.
Maybe I didn't word it right in my answer but there is a different standard for women to men.

Slut is a term generally used as an insult in its modern application. it is used as an inditement driven by outrage in the discovery of sexual behavior by a female sibling, between two women or by a man in response to the discovery of a woman’s sexual appetites. The term is encountered among GLBT persons in describing the appetites of other persons of their sexual association also but more socially and often in an air of admiration than rebuttal.

I have to agree with arryoudini. You would think these days that with women being equal in so many ways that this kind of earned name would wither away. I think a slut is the putting down of one who is in judgment of another. Who cares if you get around, be safe, make sure your not hurting anyone in the process. If you have a strong sexual appetite then who's right is it to tag you with a name.

Well I myself made my choice to be by myself rather than with someone who beat me, made my life misreable all the time. I can do bad all by myself is a term I have heard before and I can kind of understand that one, but I choose to harm no one in anyway if I can help it but at the same time I refuse to be a doormat to anyone anymore. And I know I have said this before i find silence is golden. In other words coming home to peace and quite you cannot beat it in my opinion. I may not have much but for what I do have I am very grateful indeed.

A woman is generally a slut by rumers spread by a Don't Kiss and Tell jerk off. Women tend to keep their sex lives quiet .. more than a man. I'm not saying that there isn't such a thing .. just wouldn't participate in conversation with someones personel life that is really none of my business.
