JAPAN LEAKING RADIATION FROM NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS

Why is it that we are limited in information relating to the potential of radiation leaking from several Japanese nuclear power plants. I am very sorry for the loss of peoples so far but can the japanese inform of the potential of fall out given 2 plants have leaked steam. We all remember Chernobyl as my wife is polish. I am greatly sorry for the loss but to inform the potential of leakage is important to inform the wider communities that may be affected. Why not inform now as best the japanese government can.

It seems they are doing the best they can with everything that has been going on since the earthquake and Tsunami. It appears the reactors just started leaking steam this morning but it is being done on purpose to try and cool the reactors. Here's the lasted on it as far as what I can find on the computer.
