NO! It's a scam!! Keep hanging up on them! Never give anyone access to your computer that you did not call first!

My laptop at the moment is like a snail and these companies keep popping up to fix speed amongst other things - I mistakenly paid one of these companies to speed my computer up - thought they would then go away - big mistake, huge - still pop up even when I am typing which also takes longer. I have a new laptop which I need to get set up sat unwrapped since September - everyone so busy with their own stuff these days - I might be able to do this.
Colleen - thank you so much - unfortunately I do not have Skype - I know you are a genius with the computer. This laptop is about seven years old - I do not do spreadsheets etc. on it and two years ago I rang Dell not for the first time - means hours on the phone to pay them £150+ the last time. I am so grateful to you but as I said I should the new one going or perhaps get someone to set up skype for me - I will look into it and get back to you if things become intolerable - seems a bit better at the moment although had to start it about three times as so slow to start - not good at all this technology as you probably know - thankyou so.

For now, install this (or get someone who knows how to install programs) and run a deep scan. It should clean up a lot of problems for you.

1) Download the malwarebytes anti-virus software. (it's free)
2) When you're ready to scan: First delete all cookies and close all open applications and programs.
3) Run deep scan (you might want to do this just before you go to bed as the deep scan can take hours).
4) Quarantine everything it finds.
5) Update malwarebytes in safe mode each and every time you want to scan your computer. This way you can be sure the software is looking for all known viruses.

Colleen - thank you for this - I will do this as soon as I can - I am somewhat spent technologically at the moment with these problems. How good of you - I am so grateful.
