    why do hens squalk when they lay an egg

    when chooks lived in the wild , they roam all over the place and when the hen is ready to lay an egg , stops to do so whilst the others have moved on. when the egg is laid she cackles until the rooster hear her and he crows till she finds her way back to them.

    No, we are not allowed to keep roosters in a residential area. We can only keep up to five chooks.
