building houses, building, bridges, sidewalks, walls, 

measuring medicine, keep track of money ... 

It's exact and wonderful. I'm not good  at it.

My parents loved math, my dad taught me speed math. The military uses it in test. I suck when it comes to advance math. I had two real bad years. One, my Algebra teacher died, we had someone's mom sit with us a whole year. No math! I pass and went to Alg 11, need I say what happen? He had a sleeping disorder. He slept through the class.I had to hire someone to teach me math, so I could go to college. My HS grades were perfect, but I didn't have the skills.

I learn and managed  in college. It was tough. I ended up tutoring Alg to high school kids. Funny I can hardly remember how to do it, now. I started working math problems for fun. It keeps you sharp. itsmee, I need to do that again, I'm not as sharp as I use to be. Getting dull with age.

The school should have been raked over hot coals for what they did to our class!
