I have experienced low back pain over the years, result from 2 different car accidents. Mostly keeping my weight down, staying active to keep abdominal muscles strong to support back. Getting up and working about physically is much better than sitting and being sedate. Anti-inflammatory medications help. Hot baths help me is I have strained my back. I can split wood by hand, shovel snow, lift grandkids up and let them sit on my shoulders (limited), so the back will tolerate some weight bearing, which I find helpful in staying strong. Good luck...

I'm not a doctor and I treat my own back with a little exercise that may not be what any doctor would ever advise....for me it works well...for now. Laying on my back feet spread, I point my feet outwardly as far as I can then inwardly as far as I can. The back is strained in both positions and gradually this exercise allows me to point my feet past 180 degrees. I do similar stretching exercises with all over. I feel fine.
