Chickens hunt for any sign of movement from dawn to dusk. They eat all day and there are no grass hoppers here any more. They produce eggs and we eat some and some hatch out as more chicks. It is amazing how economical they are, and they fertilize my garden throughout the fall and winter. They eat table scraps, bugs, slugs, rotting fruit, excess vegetables, uneaten cat food, popcorn, stale bread and of course, styrofoam which I don’t give them access to…but it doesn’t harm them

Sprays kill every bug and bacteria in the soil too. Some of those bugs and bacteria are vital to the survival of humans and considering our human test trials on those sprays may never pass human inhalation studies . The short-cuts to problems dealt with by sprays are gradually proven too toxic for sale in the USA so it all goes to where no one seems to care...Africa, sewage, oceans, dead lakes etc.
