    what is the importance of planning in oil industries ?

    I think planning for reality is important here...such as the reality that Big Oil is on it's way out and the sooner the better...because the reality is that Big Oil is and has been destroying the Planet...it is a non-sustainable resource which makes it ultimately archaic when it comes to meeting the energy needs of the world...it has succeeded in lining the pockets of the very few....it has and is polluting the planet beyond repair, just look at what happened to the Gulf of Mexico...and BP still won't take responsibility for it...which reminds me that the Exxon corp still refuses to pay for the cleaning up of THAT disaster....so...planning for the DEMISE of Big Oil is paramount to the survival of the planet.Count on it.
