Are we talking about the singing voice or the person behind the voice? There are some great singers who are really disgusting human beings. There are also some pretty lousy singers (myself included), who are among the nicest people you'd ever want to meet (possibly myself included :D )

You are right. Sometimes is is difficult to get beyond the personality...such as Micheal Jackson. I don't care how talented he was I cannot get beyond the odd personality and very very bad press.

I know what you mean. I hear the voice (MJ or someone else) and I don't just enjoy their incredible talent; their personality pops into the picture. It has an affect....

Everyone artist that was named has made millions of dollars. As long as they can carry a tune, and have "THE LOOK" then they are entertainers. Madonna, Britney Spears, Beyonce, Michael & Janet Jackson, Lady Gaga, Missy Elliot, to named a few, isn't what I will called great singers, But they are creative and can give one hell of a show. That's my opinion.

It all comes down to the right material that fits an artist style. Some people will like it, and some will not. I'm with "pythonlover when he says, "they all have their own unique talent".
