I have a stihl ms 250 chainsaw and seems that is starving for gas. I can crank it and it will run.but it all of a sudden cuts off. What could be the problem?

There is a small fuel filter on the end of the pickup tube inside the fuel tank.It sounds like this is clogged.Take it out & replace it.They are cheap & well worth the couple of bucks. Also clean the air filter & make sure the spark arrestor in the muffler isn't sooted up.The best way to fix the spark arrestor is to grab it with a pair of pointed nosed pliers & yank it out.You will find the machine runs much better without it.

The air filter is gooked up. Or, you're not using the right kind of gas or oil......or mix. Try priming it. Probably the oil filter is gooked up too.The whole thing needs cleaning and tuning. And , if it has a battery to help start it, then the battery is low
