When a minister has a " Dr." in front of his/her name, it means he / she either has a Phd, or a D.D. degree.
A D.D. degree is nominal only and it is only an honorary degree. For the PHd, one has to go to grad school to get a Masters Degree, then go on for a few more years to get a Phd.
