My Son's nose used to bleed like that and I imagined the worse like Leukemia or something like that.  Come to find out, his sinus's were dry.  I took him to the doctor and you should probably take your grandson also, just to make sure he's not anemic or a bleeder or something like that.  Maybe he's just picking his nose too much.  yvonne57

I think its time this lad went to the Doctor

Ask him to sit down and gently squeeze the soft portion of his nose between his thumb and finger (so that the nostrils are closed) for 10 minutes.  Then ask him to learn forward to avoid swallowing the blood and to breathe through his mouth.  Wait for at least 10 minutes before checking whether the bleeding has stopped.  Ice pack on his nose may also help.

Do you use Ice packs on his nose.I believe it helps. Have you been to the Doctor to make sure he is not a Haemopheliac?

My grandma said to tilt your head back?

No,no. You should never tilt your head back!

Don't lift your head back. The blood will go to the sinus.
