People are living longer, all ages are more sedentary. Food is processed with a lot of sodium and fat added for flavor. People make poor choices, going for quick instead of "healthy". We are seriously overfed at restaurants, too. Too many Americans "Live to Eat" rather than "Eat to Live".

Because they've grown tired of competing with the trim, fit, healthy and segacious Canadians. It had become a battle they simply could not win.

It's because of the processed food that we buy in the grocery store. And the food that we eat in fast food restuarants and other restuarants. It is loaded with carbs, fats, soy, corn syrup, sugar. Even our pets are fat. But, when I was growing up in the 50s, our moms cooked fresh foods from scratch. And hardly any kids were fat. The average man was about 5' 9" and weighed about 150 lbs.
