    Carma, I was told by a car mechanic, my brakes sqeeking was cause by a tie rod. Is this possible!

    It is more then likely its just the pads binding,

    Try another mechanic.I can't imagine how a tie rod would be linked to the brakes.Most likely scenario would be dust buildup (Drum brakes).Worn pads,scored rotor (Disc brakes).

    It's more likely that the brake shoes are wearing away.

    I think tie rod has to do with steering and wheel system. Get another opinion.
