Shadow Copy (Volume Snapshot Service or Volume Shadow copy Service or VSS ), is a technology included in Microsoft Windows that allows taking manual or automatic backup copies or snapshots of data, even if it has a lock, on a specific volume at a specific point in time over regular intervals

Thank you, but why would a shadow copy stop backing up?
I am not a computer help desk and know nothing about your system. If you want good answers you must give detailed notes about what you have and what you are doing when the problem arises. YOu should look at forums devoted to this theme.

Good,Ihave a dell desktop and as stated I was trying to back up.
Is the disk you are copying to full or does it have less free space than the size of the shadow copy!

I didn't even know I was copying to a disk.So where is this disk?
Is the disk full? The shadow copy may be too large to allow continuation
