More children than not, kick up a fuss when it comes to visiting the non-custodial parent. Children are very sensitive to the fact that there are (usually) hard feelings between the parents. Kids being kids, they often take advantage of that and attempt to play one parent against the other. Why? Because children like lots of attention and this is one way to get it. Be aware of the child's complaint however, and have an open and honest discussion about it....adult to adult. If the two of you together, cannot solve the problem, try counselling. In the meantime, do not "assume" anything!

Do not make the child go but do find out why the child does not want to go. There may be an issue between the child and the parent that you are unaware of. Always listen to the child. 

Set up some supervised visits for the noncustodial parent and child.  If there is a court order, you (?) are obligated to provide that time for the other parent and can be held in contempt if you don't make it happen.  With supervision, the child may be more willing to go. If the problem persists, get back to family court, and, as advised, get your child into therapy, preferably including yourself and/or the other parent when advisable.
