They find that they cannot change their man.

I have to think that women are a lot more independent these days and putting up with abuse is no longer acceptable. It might be worth your while to look at the statistics regarding how many men versus women file for divorce...you might find that it's even for men and women divorcing. People also get married too soon without really getting to know their partners and admittedly knowing the problems in the relationship thinking it will change once the ring is on the finger. Also people think they can change their partners, finding later it's an impossible task. A wise man on this sight(I can't remember who it was) once said that his wife had spent years trying to change him but later came to him and said she wanted a divorce because he was no longer the man she had married.Point well said and taken. This is sadly a throw away society but again I ask just how many men leave versus women.

Who says they do? Many women today come across as being more independent then their mothers and good for them, however there still is an overwhelming number of stupid women who stay with abusive spouses. Money or the lack of it will also drive a woman to divorce quicker than a man. Women also divorce for infidelity on the part of their partner, who do you think your old man is screwing? Some married woman more than likely.
