    Most tv problems can be avoider by disconnecting the power cords, removing the back cover and patiently remove the accumulated dust. Only tvs with this problem are the large glass tube type that are electrostatic charged to produce the image. Accumulated dust will over heat the circuit and provide ways for high voltage to short out...producing a popping sound.
