    Oil spill in Scotland

It seems to be a non-news story.  I am sure Shell didn't intend to spill any oil into the North Sea but then again, I doubt if there will have to be "enviornmently inpact studies" before the clean up can begin like there was here in the Gulf last year.  Waiting caused more damage than the accident itself.  I would also guess the Scottish government will embrace all help that comes instead of refusing it.

Oil spills are a mere drop in the ocean to us Scots,  it makes the fish a lot more tastier.

Yeah what's all the hoopla! Oil came from the earth, we took it out of the earth, spilled some back in the earth and everyone is upset! I thought these people were all about nature?? :) I'm next to the Pacific ocean, we have a water shortage.

vinny, Can't they convert salty sea water to drinkable fresh water ? !

Cat-- Desalinization centers. They have them in Europe, they have them in Asia but we can't have them in USA Or more precisely, California. I don't know why but I would imagine it has something to do with the EPA and CA politics where money is involved. Anytime there is a problem, look to see who benefits from this problem, the money trail starts there. Sometimes it is so obvious that people refuse to believe it. Move to Scotland Vinny, no shortage of HO2 here, we export the stuff all over the world.

Funny, about 20+ years ago I told my wife, 'soon you will see people purchasing water to drink at the grocery stores. She laughed, said 'that's stupid, why would someone want to buy water at the grocery store when they can get it for pennies from their own faucet.'

Now, people here pay 2 bucks for a bottle of water. 5 bucks or more for a cup of coffee and in san Francisco, they have an 'Air Bar' where you go in and for a couple bucks, put a mask on and sniff air."

How much of that stuff have you sniffed Vinny?

All day long! The air they sell is simply compressed oxygen and nitrogen. Some have inserted the aroma of marijuana, hashish and for those not likely to succumb to the aromas of illegal drugs, there's cinnamon. I wouldn't be surprised if they also offer monkey farts.

Move to the Great Lakes, Vinny. Between them and the Detroit River, we'll never run out of water. And last winter's record snow fall helps

Bumpy If I wanted all that, I would stick my head in my wife's fruit basket on the kitchen table. Matter of fact, I'm gunna try that tonight just to see if I can get a fruit buzz going on.

Never heard it called a fruit basket before Vinny, I must think of a few euphemisms now!

Many apparently made attempts to come out of their sad living conditions, way better than they had ever lived in their entire lives...and they did. So little honesty in the world. :)
