I am going to guess stairway to heaven also. that's the one d j's put on when they need to attend to "business" in the other room. every time i turn on the radio ... there it is ... argh!

Yes! and in the late 70's I was playing keyboards with a traveling showband-- Showbands back then were a several notches classier than you would see in your local bar playing for beer. We had a 'tight' show that our program was rehearsed over and over and performed as such.. Always in the classy hotels-- There wasn't a night regardless where we were, no matter what city,no matter how classy the place- there was always someone yelling at the top of their voice FREEBIRD!! so we eventually worked it into the program but it made no difference, we would play it then within minutes someone would yell FREEBIRD!! again.. It was just the thing of the period.. LOL It became the joke of the 70's..
