Due to request from retailers, printer manufacturers have gradually stopped including the necessary printer cable to connect the printer to a computer.
You need to be connected to your computer if you're trying to print something off the computer. You will need a usb cable which can be found at any electronics shop.
Make sure you've also run the install cd that came with the printer.
