        I think it means like having an artificial hip implanted, or having a prosthetic eye implanted, etc. ; or having someone else's heart implanted in your body. Hopefully, they were dead when their heart was removed.


        An artificial tooth can be implanted into the bone under the gum.....so can your real tooth that fell out.


        Sometimes, it means a pacemaker is  implanted into your chest.
