    Internet Explorer

Click the "Tools" button at the top of the screen and then click "Internet Options."

Click the "Security" tab at the top of the "Internet Options" window, then click the "Custom Level" button at the bottom.

Scroll down to the "Miscellaneous" category and click the "Disable" radio button next to "Allow META REFRESH."

    Click "OK" twice.

    Firefox

Type "about:config" in the address bar at the top of the browser window and press "Enter." Firefox displays a warning screen. Click "I'll Be Careful" to continue.

Type "autorefresh" in the "Filter" box at the top of the window. You should now see an item called "accessibility.blockautorefresh" below.

Right-click "accessibility.blockautorefresh" and select "Toggle." The value changes from "False" to "True."

Enter a new URL in the address bar to resume browsing the Web.
