Stores have many gimmicks to get us in.  We have points toward gas, however, we pay, as prices are higher on many items.  Rewards cards help, self-scanners, double coupons, quality also counts especially with produce, and meats.  A good deli counter is the best money maker for most chains, imagine a pound of lunch meat for $10?  (many have added water, increases weight, and it shortens the shelf life!).
