katbrd - there many tests for pancreatic discorders - blood test for enzymes, diabetes, endocrine and exocrine to test pancreatic function. Ultrasounds or CT scans (nowadays probably MRI scans) for the presence of calcification, indicating the presence of intraductal stones - test for pancreatic secretions etc. What's with the cancer bit? This however would show up on magnetic resonance imaging MRI scan or endoscopy - there are many tumours which affect the pancreas - but prior to looking for these the above would be carried out i.e. some of the simple tests which would perhaps lead to looking for a possible maglinancy. I am sure C/B thread will explain this better. I will read this.
