Make  a police report this is important to document this . Next go to bank in person and change account numbers and stop any chance of the stolen checks being cashed . Inform all three credit agency's that your identity has been  compromised . place a add in local paper saying checks were stolen and you are not responsible . Get every thing in writeing . If you ever end up in court when some one wants to collect on a bad check you need to have a paper trail proving that you did all things possible to prevent this . In court only paper counts everything else is hearsay and worthless.Create a folder and keep all the papers you get in one place this will help a lot if it ever gets to court. They now have all the info on the checks so your home security is a issue as well . This really sucks and I am sorry it happened to you. Take nothing for granted and get out in front of it. Good luck
