I just saw this on t.v. other day.  Most fish have worms. To prevent them, cook the fish well or freeze them first before eating.

I know that my father a master chef would not ever eat cod, he said it was the dirtiest fish in the waters.  Never touched it.. He being my father had passed this on to me, i won't eat cod either. Many restaurants will sell a 'whitefish' Although there is 'islandic whitefish, some use plain old cod and give it a fancy name. I will always ask my server to be specific. usually they don't know, so i will order halibut, which ironically is also a scavenger..

Yes cod do have worms under their skin.
