    Problems with Outlook Express

I have recently moved all my email information (over 6GB)  to an Acer Netbook with XP. Coming from an XP computer. (I do not want to use Windows Live Mail on Win 7).

    1) messages no longer show I have read them. Even if I manually mark as read, next time I open OE they are all not read 2) messages all arrive with a + sign which, when clicked shows the message has sub folders, usually three, with the message repeated. 3) some messages are not arriving into my InBox - luckily I had checked on the web mail and so set this to leave messages on the server, but I am having to go through almost one by one to see if each message is in my Inbox. I receive around 200 emails per day and many of these I recognise and know I have received them. No pattern to those that don't arrive, but many are just from a person (not a bulk mailing of newsletter for instance) and important that I receive.

I have tried to update OE. I have a 2004 date, version 6. I seem to be running IE 8 (which must have been an automatic update). Firefox it my default browser.

I am thinking I will move to Thunderbird, but, why am I having the problems above?

You may recover dbx files owing to repair dbx files which supports .dbx file formats of Outlook Express 5, 5.5, 6.
