I'll answer your question with a question. Why would Jesus need anyone to feed him when he could produce enough fish and bread to feed thousands?

Well, first I'd ask him whether he prefers sweet or salty. If he goes for the sweet stuff, I'll make him a pancake with maple syrup and cinnamon, and banana slices. If he likes salty, some burritos filled with spicy beans and melted cheese, plus a salad with avocado, tomatoes, onions and cilantro. As a drink I'd offer him some smoothie (for example, orange juice with spearmint or orange-pineapple-celery). And afterwards, a Chai tea with milk and raw sugar.

Difficult to offer what you do not have.
Long after they had watched him crucified. Long after the scattering of these faithful men. Jesus walked among his diciples. As he stood there, listening to them discuss the things that had occurred, they did not even know he was standing there. Right in their midst. My point is, how would you know right away, if these guys didn't?
Therefore, a fellow, some strange fellow standing there, at your door, asks, "may I have a bite to eat". You invite him in, and offer him whatever you have. Just like you would anyone else.
He does say: "if you have done this for the least of them, you have done it for me"
We should praise God that we can! There are some who have none of these things to offer. But, I guarantee, if they knew it was the Lord, they will find anything they've got to give him for the sake of the blessing of His presence.
