Most are beyond my pay grade and claim the WOW! trophy with an eye on the Nobel Prize and a book full of over-estimates, under cost estimates and unsupportable claims. Of course all that formulary to explain the PHixics of their projexts and abreviated notions to XpLaNe what ever it was they thought they were talking about. Clarity and brevity seem noticeably absent amid the stream of brightly illuminated oratory dreams...suggesting we dare not consider their wizardry without merit...because the government may have told you so...So don't trust the government or other disclaimers. The fact is that we have history that is illuminating. But you know, historic relevancy simply doesn't have the awe and wow factor of that new thing the guy has down the street. Hydrogen seems like the perfect fuel but for the fact that can do amazing damage to one's garage if it leaks out and magically send you and pieces of your garage into the stratosphere. The wow factor of hydrogen was recently demonstrated when the roof of a Light Water Nuclear Power facility in Japan vanished skyward. Hydrogen in autos requires design for that purpose by auto makers. Backyard hacks do succeed in demoing their "Look mom, no gasoline" successes, but I count that as a paltry success that would be picked up by the auto industry faster than the electrical circuit for pausing windshield wipers...if it works so well. If you want to cut your house hold heating bill....insulate your house better.
