Eat as clean as you can. This means eliminating processed foods like frozen dinners, as well as chips, sodas, and sweets. Just cut out empty calories by making sure everything you eat is full of nutrition. (Empty calories are from foods that have no substantial nutritional value.) Also, excercise on a regular basis. The premise for eating clean and excercising is that when you have Type 2 diabetes, your body has become insulin-resistant. So every time you eat, your blood sugar is getting too high because your insulin is no longer effective at lowering blood sugar. By cutting down on the empty calories you're eating, and by excercising, you'll actually be training your body to become sensitive to insulin again. Your blood sugar will be reduced naturally by your body, so you won't need insulin injections. I think it's a travesty that doctors are not promoting the fact that Type 2 diabetes can be cured by these simple steps.
