The question, "Do you believe gay marriage should be legal in the U.S.", applies to federal legality and not biblical legality since a church marriage is not legal according to the laws of the United States of America.
Be prepared, I will reply to most all who respond as I view this as a discussion and not a post and run deal. All comments will remain unless they have nothing to do with the topic as titled. If you post just to make fun of or give your views on homosexuals, those will be removed as they do not apply to the question.

So, let me get this straight...Charlie Sheen can make a "porn family", Kelsey Grammer can end a 15 year marriage over the phone, Larry King can be on divorce #9, Britney Spears had a 55 hour marriage, Jesse James and Tiger Woods, while married, were having sex with EVERYONE. Yet, the idea of same-sex marriage is going to destroy the institution of marriage? Really?

I'm sure the question will be raised, "why do they have to call it marriage, can't they call it civil unions or domestic partnerships?"
My answer, because that creates a separate but equal conundrum. The constitution would have to be ratified to include for a separate class of people with their own set of laws protecting their rights. This would create the "special rights" quagmire that so many complain about.
In response to another thought I've seen, keeping gay unions/domestic partnerships at a state level. This will not/does not work either for these reasons:

Another example as to why allowing states their own decision in allowing or disallowing gay unions/marriages is: If one state allows for gay marriage/civil unions or domestic partnerships and another doesn't, then the couple who are viewed as legally joined in one state can still be stripped of their legal rights in another state that does not recognize their union/marriage. This means if they go visit family or friends in a state that does not recognize their marriage/union, if one were to be admitted into the hospital there, their partner/spouse could be kept from their side due to the "family only" rule most hospitals have implemented in cases of extremely ill or dying patients. This I see as inequality at it's best.
