    why are bubbles soft and wood hard

    not all bubbles are soft, bubbles of glass are hard, as they are made of glass. There are sofa and hard woods also, balsa wood is very soft as are some pine woods. The harder woods are denser and Oak, for example has a much higher PSI than pine (more than double). The bubbles that are "soft" are usually soap and contain air in the mass of the bubble but the external shape is actually soap and is not very stable as even air can break them.
