I too heard Jesus knock and letting Him in was the best thing in my entire life. Don't hesitate. Ask, and He shall enter.

Just wanted to point out the misinterpretation of this verse as an invitation, if you look in Revelations at the context of this verse, get back to me and tell me what you think. Not trying to argue just think that the verse is widely misused, even at my church.

I could not agree with you more. It starts in Sunday schools and faith schools where kids are taught that God created the earth in 6 literal 24 hr days. Then Jesus birthday coincided with the festival of light. Jesus was resurrected on Easter Sunday, and we will all go to heaven when we die because we have immortal souls. This God dishonoring garbage is trotted out year after year along with Santa Claus, fairies, and ghosts by parents and teachers who actually believe it is the right way to teach kids.

So when the kids grow up and work out that Santa and fairies are not real. They begin to doubt if God is real and cannot equate a loving God with a violent and corrupt society.

Probably the least quoted scripture in Christendoms churches is John 3:13, but they all know John 3:16.

my Mexican mate Jesus has knocked on my door a number of times! with an armful of beer! :-)

    digger

Careful there, Grit. He may never leave and have his family move in too.

I would humble let him in and ask what he wished for me to do since he came to my house. I would bow down and kiss hiss feet ( which I never and will never do to any humans feet). Then humble ask him why me out of all the other greater people in the world.

    Elitistprick

Careful - I thought the same thing about people's feet once, and then someone kissed mine and did some toe-suckin... Holy-wah! don't knock it 'till you try it, and TRUST ME (and everyone else I've helped discover this weird-sounding but oh-so-wonderful act), you will be an INSTANT convert. Even Dick Morris agrees!
    Ha!

hope he has some ID on him

If anyone knocks on my door they are looking for someone or something. Jesus is welcome in my home to sup with me.

    Thank you Verna,

Does that also include the least of Christs brothers who have taken over the knocking where Jesus left off?

If so you will indeed be blessed because they will help you understand what the bible really teaches as opposed to the false traditions we have been lumbered with by power hungry Kings emperors and popes.

    Regards

A LOUD RESOUNDING YES! HE KNOCKED ON MY DOOR 11 YEARS AGO,HE SAID HE WOULD NEVER LEAVE ME OR FORSAKE ME AND THAT HE IS THE WAY AND THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE AND NO ONE CAN COME TO THE FATHER BUT ONLY THROUGH HIM!

I'd think another Jehova's witness was at the door and I wouldn't open it.

ONLY IF HE HAD A COLDIE.

Jesus door knocking days are long over.
While on earth, he taught his disciples to knock on doors,
and now that he is a Reigning King he has 7.5 million subjects and rising to do that task for him.
But most people just slam the door shut especially those claiming to be Christian. How sad is that!

I might be a bit odd,but i took the question to mean if Jesus actually knocked on my front door physically, not spiritually ,so most of the answers seem to be about accepting Christ as Salvation,,if Jesus knocked on my front door i would hit the dirt so fast.because i reckon in every Christian there is that little thought,"am i good enough to make it to heaven".even though i know without Jesus nobody is..>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<..

After checking His ID and all the proper documents, I'd say to him, "How about a bottle of Evian, Lord?"

              His ID:

    Name:     Jesus O' Nazareth

Title:        King of Kings, Lord of Lords

    Address: 1 Pearly Gate Street

                    Heaven, Heavenly Kingdom 12345

                    Universe

yes i would let him in any time some one looking for food, a place to stay for the night ,or any thing that i can help some one with
