The true meaning of marriage is the joining together of one part man and one part woman. That in the agreement, they both are to be together as one body that no one can come between.

The agreement is not just between the man and the woman, but is a sacred agreement between the two of them and God to whom they have entered into the bond with.

genesis 2;18 and the LORD GOd said it is not good for man to be alone; i will make him a helper compareable to him! companship would be the first reason from what i see, then perhaps procreation"go forth and multiply" are biblical reasons. personal reasons would be the same who wants to go through life alone! we are taught to glorify god in all we do,that would include marriage.infidelity is not acceptable perhaps is another good reason for gods instition to test our virtue. you don't get paid for laying on the couch all week... ...and of cource ....LOVE
