Favorites are hidden by default. See this video for how to find them http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Getting-started-with-Internet-Explorer-9

I think that you are SOL to recover your favorites. When you upgrade IE Explorer it should retain your favorites. for some reason it did not.

For future reference prior to upgrading you should backup your favorites and save them to your desktop.

To backup your favorites in Internet explorer click on file and scroll down to import and export. Follow the prompts and export your favorites to your desktop. That way in the event it happens again you can always restore your favorites.

Too bad that you lost them but at least you now know what to do the next time you upgrade.

I am having the same problem. I tried to uninstall this version and cannot figure out how to do it. THIS IS AWFUL....if you can't keep favorites....I depend on them greatly....can't imagine why this was removed. When I tried to download an earlier version...system would not let me. Hope someone can figure this out.
