    A quick stoning usually did the trick
    It was simple, cheap and humane unlike beheading, hanging, the electric chair or living on death row wasting tax payers money.
    Sadly it was also abused. Hence exile was preferred. IE Cain was exiled to the land of Nod.


    It the days of the Kings of Israel there were 5 cities of refuse where an an unintentional man-slayer could seek refuge from the pursuing avengers of blood.(The victims relatives.)Once inside the city he must work for his sustenance until the death of the High Priest when all fugitives were released and could return home having been legally exonerated.


    I have always believed it was a wiser system than our present day systems.
