    Britishgas have offered to cap my elec/gas bill for 2years by paying a premium of 5% is it a good offer?

    Yes I would as gas and electrics are going up really quickly as I think there is going to be another cold winter I have got this deal I would check other companys as you might get a better deal else where as I think all the suppliers are jumping on the band wagon  thanks sparky

    Now thats a hard one. I remember many years ago when several mortgage companies offered a simular deal for mortgages for a one off sum of around 199 pounds to cap the interest rate for 5 years. The problem was that the interest rates in the UK came down and after signing up where way out of pocket. If gas / electric prices do come down you will be on contract to still pay the higher price. Be careful!
