In a locked garage in a gated community. As an aside, I rented a car in San Diego and a surcharge was added allegedly because a lot of vehicles were being stolen there and were brought into Mexico. I subsequently complained to the California Attorney General's office, who contacted the rental company and I got my surcharge back. It turned out that the rental agent had no authorization to do this and had done so to other customers. He was fired! I still think that a lot of stolen vehicles there, do find their way to Mexico.
