I feel the Health and Safety Rules and Regulations are needed.
The companies that provide our food, drugs etc. are in the profit making business not the people business. Years ago there were no rules and regs for highly dangerous jobs. Think of the coal mines for example.
Having rules and regulations increased the cost of the products we use. Hopefully they will lessen the dangers posed by companies who want to make money without concern for people and out environment.
There are more law suits for sure but I can't see where that is connected to Rules and Regs.
So much from me, it is time to walk the dogs.

Enjoy the walk.
What has prompted me with this question is that my wife has today been to our Grandson's school sports day & permission now has to be sought to take photos of the activities. Is the world ( or at least the uk) going totally nuts!

I can undestand your frustration. However, remember there are some really nasty people that like to watch little boys and take pictures of them. I don't know if this is what is going on but it was what came to my heart and gut.
Nothing is going on! This is now standard practice within the UK that activities at school sports days cannot now be photographed without permission from the childrens parents and the school when your own grandchild is taking part.
Unless you are a public figure, permission should always be sought before taking a person's picture.
Too many people share these photos on Facebook. No all parents want their kids picture and name of school, location etc plastered on Facebook. I have to agree, permission should be sought because of this.
So basicly we are now saying here is that we can no longer have our children or grandchildren in the family photo album participating at their school sports day. Thats just crazy!!
