I believe the government unions have become corrupt. They give dues to liberal candidates and won't give people a choice.
A local woman was in a union and her dues was used to run ads against her husband, that was running for school board.
She sued the union, don't know the results. The government workers make more than a person doing the same work not working for government.

A lot of people who bash the Unions would be very surprized to know that if it was not for unions wages and benifits negotiated by the unions for their members that these union bashers would not be making anywere near the pay scale they enjoy now riding on the coatails of unions Union bashers like to talk the talk but they will never walk the walk

If it wasn't for the union my husband would not have the job he has today. The employer wanted give a promotion to a friend. The union took it all the way to arbitration and my husband got the promotion that he deserved. But If there was no union to stand up for the common workers they get crap, and the ones with the right friends and connections go to the top. Not for what they know, or how good a worker they are, but for who they know and that's not right.

The unions are a necessary "evil". They help the average, every-day worker maintain a decent wage, hours and benefits. Some charge too much but many more do work for the best. Remember, the Democrats gave them the ability to do these things more than fifty yrs ago. FDR's policies was to get the working man work. The unions formed to get decent wages for all. Not just them. And now the Republican rich bastards are trying to take it all away. Ask yourself this, "do you want to have benefits while working that protect you and your job as long as you're doing a good job?"

No. I think they will become stronger. I'm not saying I want them to become stronger, I just think they will. You go to a "right to work state" like Utah and the only people that are making a comfortable living are governmental employees (not all of them) or employers. Almost everyone else is making minimum wage or just above. I would rather see more governmental regulation (I know the government is almost as corrupt), then dependence on a union, to compel employers to pay a descent wage. Unfortunately, greed and corruption is rampant.
